Lumension Scan (SC Magazine )
Lumension Scan is a part of the larger Lumension Vulnerability Management platform. While this tool is only a part of the larger platform, it does have some good capability built in. This product can be used to scan the enterprise network and identify assets and seek out vulnerabilities and weaknesses on devices before they can be exploited by an attack.

Microsoft Planning Real-Time Feed of Valuable Threat Data (PCWorld)
Microsoft has had a great deal of success taking down botnets in recent years. A fringe benefit of those takedowns is that Microsoft gets to collect oodles of very valuable data. Now, Microsoft is preparing to offer that threat intelligence as a real-time feed that partners can use to evaluate threats and develop better defenses.

Are QR codes the next spam frontier? (SC Magazine )
Warnings have been made about Quick Response codes as they begin to be impacted by cyber criminals.
A QR code is a two-dimensional matrix barcode and, when scanned by a camera phone, will link the user directly to the mobile web, usually a social media site, online video or promotional page.

Microsoft delivers seven security fixes for Windows Server, Windows (SearchWindowsServer)
Microsoft kicked off another year of bug squashing Tuesday, releasing seven security bulletins to fix breaches involving remote code execution, elevation of privilege, information disclosure and, interestingly, one described as a security feature bypass. All seven target either Windows Server 2008 R2 or desktop Windows.
