Mobile Device Management

The Lumension® Mobile Device Management (MDM) module allows organizations to safely manage and control smartphones, tablets and other mobile devices connecting to their IT networks by providing visibility, security policy enforcement, and ongoing management across multiple mobile platforms.

Reliance on mobile devices in the work place is significant and accelerating – especially in light of the Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) movement today. According to the 2013 State of the Endpoint report by the Ponemon Institute, 49% of IT pros said employees currently use personal mobile devices and 75% anticipate it will grow in 2013. The trouble is that IT is not prepared to manage and secure these devices. The report also showed that 48% of IT pros have no security policies in place for these devices – and this is their largest security concern for this year.

The Lumension® Mobile Device Management module provides full mobile device lifecycle and policy management including provisioning, security, software & inventory, and decommissioning of iOS (e.g., Apple iPhones and iPads) and Android-based mobile devices. It is integrated into the Lumension® Endpoint Management and Security Suite, allowing IT administrators to use the same console and workflow to extend control beyond the traditional endpoint to include common mobile devices.

Using Lumension® Mobile Device Management, organizations can get better visibility and control over mobile devices being used by employees.

• Visibility – convenient at-a-glance dashboard widgets or in-depth reports provide visibility into mobile device usage, applications installed, and more.
• Enforcement – gain centralized control over access of corporate- and personal-liable mobile devices to organizational IT networks, including the ability to find, lock and/or wipe devices.
• Protection – defend against the loss or theft of valuable organizational IP and customer data (like legally-controlled PII and ePHI) when accessed or stored on mobile devices.

The Lumension® Mobile Device Management module is fully integrated into the Lumension® Endpoint Management and Security Suite, and can be licensed as a stand-alone module or used in conjunction with other modules such as AntiVirus, Application Control, Device Control, Disk Encryption, and Patch and Remediation to provide robust defense-in-depth security for organizational endpoints, removable devices and mobile devices.
