LEMSS customers must be able to connect to Lumension Global Subscription (GSS) Service in order to properly license and provision the LEMSS product modules and content. Air Gap customers must configure an Internet connected server to access this same information (see KB 1691 for more details).

Microsoft downloads with LEMSS Patch and Remediation version 7.2 and above
Most packages made available after January 2007 will be directed to download from the Microsoft repository, based on the following Content URL:
If this location is not available (e.g., firewall rules, etc.), the Lumension Patch and Remediation Server will download the file from the Cached Repository, then the Lumension GSS Repository if the Cached Repository is unavailable.
Cached Repository with LEMSS Patch and Remediation version 7.2 and above
Packages that do not have a Content URL as described in the Microsoft Downloads section will be downloaded from the following URL:

Firewall Configuration Recommendations
Organizations using outbound filtering rules may need to add rules for these URLs to properly replicate and take advantage of content deliverability enhancements.
